Typically, the highest approval ratings are given to brick-and mortar merchants with credit card sales that are approximately 90% card-present (vs. card-not-present). In addition, high approval ratings can be found with merchants that tend to reconcile their own sales records with that of the processor, closing out those sales and clearing them for payment — or batching out — more than 12 times per month.
